Rice Krispie Treats


This recipe is an easy one and a classic! Nothing super gourmet about this dessert just so delicious :) Made a bit healthier with avocado oil and vegan butter but you can do the classic as well.


Prep:

-You could measure out the ingredients in advance if you were super pressed for time, but overall this recipe takes about 10 minutes total!


Tips:

-You can use any type of cereal you want- I've done Reese's Puffs, Corn Flakes, Cheerios, whatever you have or want works


Leftovers:

-These are so good it's impossible to have left overs! However, if you do, best stored in an airtight container.



 

The recipe:

Rice Krispie Treats


Prep time: 5 minutes

Cook time: 5 minutes


Serves: 8-10 Rice Krispie Treats


For the Rice Krispie Treats

1 package of the large marshmallows (you can do the small ones as well just make sure you have enough!)

1 tablespoon avocado oil

2 tablespoons vegan butter (you could sub regular butter here)

6 cups Rice Krispie cereal (or whichever cereal you are using)


Instructions:

  1. Melt butter and avocado oil over medium heat in large saucepan

  2. Add in the marshmallows a bit at a time and stir until melted and combined with the oil/butter

  3. Turn off the heat

  4. Add in the Rice Krispies and stir to combine

  5. Pour into a parchment lined baking sheet or dish

  6. Let cool for 15-30 minutes

  7. Cut into any shape you want and optional to top with sprinkles or candy

  8. Serve and enjoy!

  • The classic Rice Krispie's are great in this recipe, but would be no different with any generic brand too

  • Both Chosen and Amazon make a good avocado oil but I've used any brand here and it works all the same
